[ OBJECTIVE ]
»
The Laudes Foundation provided the Biomimicry Institute a grant of $3 million, supporting the initiative, which would demonstrate scalable new pathways for the ~92 million tonnes of fashion waste discarded annually. The Biomimicry Institute set out to apply nature's principles by transforming mixed textile waste, which was destined for landfill or incineration, into something valuable and usable by Earth's “helpers.”

[ APPROACH ]
»
This website is a dense academic resource, rich with references and interlinked material—making content mapping a critical first step. Once the structure was in place, we focused on design, establishing a refined color palette, consistent photo treatment, and a cohesive visual system. Although we had spent over a year familiarizing ourselves with the global pilot studies alongside the Biomimicry Institute’s Nature of Fashion team, the site itself was designed and developed in just three weeks.

For the “Lessons Learned” page, we used the parallax effect to guide users through the narrative, adding depth and drawing focus to key takeaways.
